Homelessness is a chronic problem in most major cities, and Tampa is no exeception. Many organizations are doing their part to alleviate day to day stress and suffering. Hyde Park United Methodist Church serves about 100 homeless men and women breakfast each Sunday morning in their Activities Center.
On Sunday March 8, 2008 GET REAL Involved! will lend a hand by serving, preparing the meal, washing dishes, etc. GET ready to experience

GET REAL Involved!
GET REAL Involved! engages youth in community service within Tampa Bay.
This group was formed based on the idea that getting students involved in community service early and often will change the world.
We know students want to make a difference, and that they prefer to spend time with their peers & friends. GET REAL Involved! service projects allow them to do just that. We organize turnkey service projects within the Tampa Bay community that are screened to conform to Hillsborough County School requirements for service hours.
All trips are fully chaperoned with background checked adults. All service sites have been screened. We've done all the work, all you have to do is fill out some forms (click here) and show up!This group is sponsored by the Youth Ministry of Hyde Park United Methodistwhich has been organizing monthly youth service projects under the GET REAL banner since 2006. All are welcome!
